Because buying a new bike from the 90s is pretty tricky? With the vgc/nos parts this is receiving, when it comes out the other end it will feel practically new. I didn't buy it for the 'patina', if I did then why bother sourcing barely used DA and rims, etc? I bought it because it was quality steel from a quality manufacturer from the right year.
It'll ride the same, paint job or no, so why not?
