As the "new" tree_trunks admits to having been banned several times already, is this grounds to swing the hammer again?
-
• #15803
Swung already.
Banned GoldenBalls and TreeTrunks, nuked all historical content from either whilst I was at it.
Feel free to report any aliases that anyone sees.

I'm hoping you can help. I buy quite a few bikes off the forum restore them and then sell on my own site. If anyone searches google for the bikes which I have which I have bought on the forum then the post where I bought them comes up. That is fine because I ask the sellers to edit out the prices which they do. One of the guys who has sold me a bike closed the thread when he sold it to me and before he had removed the price so now he can't edit the prices out.. Is there any way around this?

Haaaaaa!
You buy bikes, do work and then make a profit- fine.
If the amount you add is way over parts, your time and a little profit and you are embarrassed by having the original price up I reckon tough shit!

Hahah
Oh hi, is that eBay? Yeah, got a small favour to ask: could you remove a couple of completed listings from your history please?....Please!?

That doesn't seem very honourable or straightforward, frankly.

I'm not sodding Jeez, let me back in!

In one of his posts he claimed to have never actually left the forum.
It was weird when he started arguing with his own aliases, especially when they had already been outed.

Will we be getting a 'report post' button, or do we just keep using this threads to point out that people like https://www.lfgss.com/profiles/84598/ are not necessarily welcome here?

I ask the sellers to edit out the prices
Why?
-
• #15818
Probably for the same reason that when you go in to a shop they don't have a lable telling you how much it cost them to buy.
-
• #15819
Shops don't buy their supplies on a mates-rates community market.
-
• #15820
It was in brackets, you can say what you want in brackets and it's fine because it's not really real. ()

I'm not going to help you.
salmonchild has it summed up perfectly, and I am far more on the side of the buyers knowing not just where the bike came from but the price too. It is up to the buyer to then decide whether the price that you are selling at offers a fair premium (for whatever value you add) over them scouring classifieds too.
Just as a word of warning, I'm still planning to find time to add the classifieds type to the system. When this happens, I don't see any reason why the price something sold at wouldn't be shown and sellers won't be able to hide or edit that information after the event.

Why is he not welcome?
He may be a bit cynical, but I can't see any abuse from him.
-
• #15823
^^ Very good idea!
-
• #15824
But I have to do restoration buy parts spend money advertising etc. If you have a problem with that I don't mind.
-
• #15825
Because I spend money restoring and then advertising the bikes and that is not always obvious to the eventual buyer anyway I was trying to find out if a post could be reopened to edit.
aerone1609 spamming the eBay thread with their own sales, which are also up in the classifieds.
