i'd keep the controltech.
however, if 100 is your size, @Señor_Bear:

Yeah Pro Vibe would also look great.

Desperately want a 110mm version of that PRO stem... without paying a squillion quid for it..
-
• #130
I vote, fat carbon zipp, american too, go for the whole finishing kit :)
-
• #131
Is this built yet?
-
• #132
The squillion quid mark is what puts me off the zipp stem
-
• #133
Not sure never been a big fan of that stem tbh
-
• #134
Just get the phat 3T
-
• #135
Probably the best choice
http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/3t-arx-ltd-carbon-road-stem/rp-prod82309
or in similar price range:
http://www.ubyk.co.uk/zipp-sl-sprint-stem/17345
but if was me I'd live without the chubby stem and go with:

Actuually, sorry for the links but this in -17º is not a terrible stem:

Anti graphics that are etched in but the black/silver combo matches the frame??
edit, hmm - seem to be out of 130mm

Honestly, with the exception of that PRO stem, I think all the fat carbon stems are pure anti - not to mention hideously expensive.

• #138
Telescope is selling an acetone-d 130mm 3t ARX stem in classifieds no?
If you want logos, I also have one with them intact (two infact, red and white)
-
• #140
Hmm not sure how good that would look. I know thompsons can look good:
Not that light though...

• #141
£45 for tune stem means you can try or flog back on ebay ..

2 bolt Thomson road stems are fucking awful. Even when torqued correctly, they can slip alarmingly half way through a pothole. They are also boat anchors. I've got one on my Rourke at the moment and I can't wait to get it the fuck off!
-
• #143
Thats not good news .. never had one but just won on ebay .. have you tried acetone cleanse and light carbon assemble paste?
-
• #144
Ive had a couple and I never had that problem I have to say
-
• #147
I've had it with 2 now. Will not use again.
I find they're a nightmare to get the two bolts evenly torqued - even with a wrench. One bolt always ends up over torqued and the other, under.

I prefer:

I have some Thomson X2s - they aren't exactly confidence inspiring I have to say. What's the generic murdered out black stem of choice that isn't gash and isn't porky?
The Cannondale C2 stems are nice with the logos acetoned off.

What about those stealth logo zipp stems? Or just your black stem of choice plus acetone?
how about this
