How does the retroshift / cable-pull combo now compare to the Time Machine?
-

In terms of the brakes, hydraulic is better - but when freshly adjusted the cable discs are pretty damn close.
However- major change since last year is me, I'm now on the drops during a cross race whereas last year I was mainly on the hoods, which means I can't change gear this year.
This wasn't as much of an issue as it sounds as I grabbed a suitable gear and then just stuck with it- but it would have been nice to have been able to select gears on the fly, as it were.
Which makes this set up much more suited to a bike like the Time Machine to be honest- a bike on which you are unlikely to be "killing it in the drops" all the time, but more often cruising on the hoods.
These shifters will probably come off the bike shortly, if what I have planned comes off.

This frame is for sale if anyone would like to buy it? It'll come with the original carbon fork.

£150, frame, fork, headset?
£50 for the 3T Palladio seatpost, and the wheels (Hope ProII Evo on Mavic TN719) will go for a decent enough offer.

Talbot replacement on the horizon, or just had enough of CX?
-
• #133
I'll be building my own CX frame (under Matt's guidance), then racing it to see if my brazing was any good.
I need to sell the old frame, associated bits and bobs in order to pay for a big box of 853 tubes.

That's for the wheels and frame incidently.. Is it a 56?
-
• #136
Sure. I still have the SRAM XX Cassette as well that I need to move - 11-32, incredible intricate CNC machined steel confection.

You have PM.

We can i subscribe to the new "dammit builds cross bike" thread. Really enjoying all the talbot cp threads lately
-
• #139
I could either put it in this thread, or start a new thread for it, I'll let the hive-mind decide.
-
• #140
I don't mind either...Definitely haven't just been googling build options...
-
• #141
This frame is now sold, I'll start a new thread when the box of tubes turn up as it'll be a new bike, I think the saddle and the pedals will be the only carry-over components.
