@IR - @edscoble is right (that sounds weird), they do say that they can be used with rim brakes even if they don't have an MSW.
I might still look for something cheaper though. Anyone with a beatery silver wheelset, feel free to hawk your wares this way.
In the meantime, On-One external bearing chainsets are back to £59.99 again.

Look like a hard wearing touring rims, good shout.
They sell the rims for £18 each if you fancy trying to skip some labour costs.
I've build two 32h pairs up, one to XT M756 hubs, the other to Tensile Large Flange flip-flop hubs. Both builds were pretty easy and have stayed true-ish.
