Didn't former president GW Bush subscribe to a few fundamentalist Christian historical "facts"? Pretty sure Reagan was a key figure in the rise of the Christian right in the US too.

Sewing an elephant head on a fella seems far less fanciful than the world being created in a day.

I mean, it's just a science problem to sew a new head onto someone - we can stick pig hearts in your chest, why not figure out how to stick an elephant head on your neck?

There seem to be a lot of practicalities Modi hasn't considered. Ganesha's usually portrayed dancing - try cutting a rug with Babar's head balanced on your shoulders.

At least we could be sure that Bush was surrounded by wise and restrained advisors to keep his nuttiness in check, eh? Oh...
