Does anyone else encrypt their Android phone as a matter of course now?

Anyone tried Google cardboard?
-
• #15355
Definitely not that desperate to try it! I'll wait for one to come through from Google.....
-
• #15356
I have. I think its a really interesting concept that could use the camera to place "objects" in the real world.
Edit:
Woops... This was in response to "anyone use Google cardboard?" -

I had a moto g (1st generation one) and unfortunately it was lost and then stolen, before I replace it with the same again is there anything else now recommended for that money?
The 'new' moto g has a bigger screen which isn't appealing to me, so I don't want to go down that route.. -

Just got my Inbox invite, only asked a few days ago.
-
• #15359
Can you let me know what info it displays on an incoming email from someone you've not received an invite from before?
i.e. does it just say "British Telecom", or does it say "British Telecom accounts@btplc.com"?
-
• #15360
It just shows as 'Inbox from Gmail' as the sender and 'Your invitation to try Inbox by Gmail' as the header.

Just ordered a Fairphone. Anyone else on the bandwagon?
Wanted to wait for the second model, but my current HTC has given up any pretence of wanting to work properly.
Bank transfer was a bit of a faff.

I think my Nexus 4 digitizer is fucked. I've got two unresponsive strips, one is at the very top of the screen so I cant swipe down the notifications bar (I can using Nova Launcher gestures but only on the homescreen) and the other is in a vertical strip extending through P, L, "backspace", and "enter". I can see this using show touches in developer options.
Anyone got a cheap phone for sale or any idea how to fix it?

I'll sell you mine.

Or I'll sell you mine?

Can people who already got the Z3 compact report back on general usability / stability please (an if they're happy with the camera) ?
-
• #15366
my colleague has it he loves it - I have the Z2 full size currently, very good phone - I've dropped it numerous times and it survives everything, so solid

Just ordered a Moto X 2014 32GB to replace my 2 year old battered Galaxy S3. Was intending to get a Nexus 5 from CPW for £280 but found myself exceedingly tempted by the 24h sale ("celebrating" the launch of the 360)... Damn their marketing minds.
-
• #15368
Where's this 24h sale? I'm also exceedingly tempted...
My N4 has just bricked (completely unresponsive to charging/adb/turning on into the bootloader) and am up for a new contract anyway - talk about convenient timing! The Moto X 2014 seems the best bet and don't reckon EE will have it on contract yet. -
• #15369
Ah, found it, on the Motorola website.
I really should google before I post... -
• #15370
Discount ran until noon today, sorry bro.
-
• #15371
They seem to have extended it... At least, it ran long enough for me to bag one last night with the £60 off.

I ordered a new digitizer for my N4 the other day for £9 off eBay, getting sick of using this app that has them to the right of my screen. Replacing looks relatively simple. Might consider getting a new battery if Lollipop doesn't help things significantly.

So what's the best deal for Three? Web page seems to say £20. I thought people were talking about something much cheaper?
-
• #15374
Can anyone reccomend a good email app to use with my HTC one mini? The standard app is useless because you can't see any emails that are older than a few days. I tried the Yahoo mail one (I have a yahoo mail account which seemed like a great idea 7 years ago) and it worked ok but a bug meant it rinsed 3GB of my data allowance in a couple of days.

I'd definitely have ordered a digitizer and screen combo, separating the screen from the old digitizer is going to be a ballache
Just email inbox@google.com
