The remake was almost an homage, especially Oldman's mannered way of speaking. The original is one of the best things the beeb ever did, other adaptations were patchy, Little drummer Girl had Diane Keaton miscast, The Constant Gardener was brilliant, so was The Spy..one of the best films Richard Burton appeared in.
