I sold one of them a year or so back.
Chumps love them, but they still cost Rolex money to maintain.

Knowing nothing about the relative merits of these things I just thought it looked nice.

Really good looking, collectable because of the case back engraving that we don't do any more unless it's a DSD etc. Can't see from the pic but it's probably got a Rolex winding crown to.
The only thing is, the movement is a bit of a dogs dinner and will cost upward of £400 for a complete overhaul.
But still it does look great.

Meanwhile in Antidotes land.....
Casio Rangeman, I'm seriously considering it.

What are the costs of maintaining something like this? I've been looking at similar condition/aged IWCs and was under the impression that a visit to the menders after purchase should last it a few good years...

Looks nice to me. They usually have ETA movements which should not be expensive to maintain if your watchmaker isn't a dick. Personally, I wouldn't pay much more than £250 unless it had been recently serviced.

You can get an ETA movement properly serviced for around £50 if you find the right person. The only issue with IWCs is getting hold of spares if you do need them.

Haha.
Admit it, you love it.
