didn't read your post properly.
the length is secondary to the tightest angle the cable has to make to enter the rd straight. yours doesn't look too long at all.

Still needs shorter chainring bolts because I only had bolts for a double and a 18 mm cone spanner to tighten the spring on the singleator. Will get a new saddle somewhere soon-ish, but I still need to figure out which.

Bought a 2nd hand pomp last week. Put on some cx-tyres that I had laying around, a new chain and changed the gearing from 44/18 to 44/16. Took it for a quick spin today on some dirt roads, great fun.
