Good places to get decent (cheapish) sketchbooks? A5 size?
-
• #178
Make your own?

Ain't nobody got time for that! It's for traveling sketchbook so needs to be sturdy

Just completed my half marathon obstacle course, the Spartan Beast...4hrs 11mins, so tough but great fun, might have dried out and feel clean again in about a week!!
Thanks to those who sponsored, there's still time if you haven't! ;)

Takes 10 minutes tops (more like 5) and it's as sturdy as any other.
Not paying for it helps you use it more and making it yourself is far more satisfactory (plus Glyn will love you for it)

Any links to a decent explanation?

I can make you a tutorial? I started working on one a few weeks back and have most of it written, I just need to add pictures. I'll do it tonight and get it to you as soon as it's done. Next year you'll more than likely have a series of book binding projects/workshops, they'll love it if you're on the ball

Now that my knee is fixed, I've been spending most of my spare time running around the woods an up what hills i can find. I know there are some closet runners among you, so i thought i'd share some of my inspiration:

I really want to have a go at trail running, need to actually start running again before having a crack at it
-

Running I do not like, but trail running is good fun - I can confirm this after doing 13 miles of the stuff on Saturday!!

My running buddies have all moved away from Norwich and I find running on my own rather difficult, although I reckon I'd love a good trail run regardless of who was with me.
Apologies if I'm making no sense, I'm in that 'closebutnotclosenoughtohometime' daze

Looks like we have enough for a little trail running clique then. Mind you, I haven't done much since a Parkrun about 6 months ago so atm tying my laces would probably raise my heart rate.

Same, I might have to get a few practice runs in first!

have a bunch of mates that I run with on Thursday evenings. 6.30pm from just by the dandy horse. Speed = speed of slowest runner. Usually do it on the road, but away from trafficky bits. You're all welcome to come along, the pace is usually conversational with a few efforts followed by those that have shot off waiting for the rest.
It's rather good fun if I do say so myself.

tying my laces would probably raise my heart rate.
Best cure for that is to just go out and run the distance you see yourself doing in 3 months. That way you've ticked your project and can just enjoy all the running :)

That was really cool - I wish we had mountains :(

Welcome to my life.

Thanks man, sounds good! My only problem is sticking to a set time, working in retail sucks.
I think I'm off next Thursday though so I may join you

Mk2 16v in Oak Green would be my ultimate Golf

either a Mk1 16s or a Mk2 G60 limited or a works Rallye would be my choices
^ That's really nice. Must resist.
