moto x
i like the nexus 5, but i'd like something sleeker... so moto x is probably my next phone.... but may go with iPhone for the first time in 6 years, just because i can and my contract allows me to upgrade whenever i like as long as i've paid off half the phone... which is fairly easy to do quickly without really noticing it.
i'm interested in the "hand off" feature and syncing with my macbook

The handoff feature is just Chrome Sync, no?
Access open tabs, sessions, etc from other instances of Chrome on other browsers.
And is the sync more than what Drive/Docs offers?
I don't find there are any rough edges moving between Android and anything else (mostly a mix of Linux, Windows and Mac machines).
Actually, about the only rough edge is moving from an Android phone app to an Android tablet app... there's nothing that sorts that out if it doesn't rely on saving stuff back to a server somewhere. But Apple aren't yet offering that either are they (though their sync API at least allows devs to start building that missing bit)?
Let's just say that if you have a Nexus 5 you're already in a good place... but, the Moto X does these things better:
But for me, I went for it for the advertised voice benefits:
The camera is worse is low-light conditions, but as good (if not better) in outdoor daylight conditions.
There are no OS changes, this is still pure Android... so the above are only hardware plus Motorola helpers.
The big thing is the feel and perception of it being really high quality, and what feels like a big leap in the voice control stuff.
