Might have been tempted by the N6 if the price was cheaper, even if it is a bit large. The nexus 4 was like £240 when it first came out, I guess google feel they have enough of a market share that they don't need to do that anymore.
Not sure on the nexus 9 either, is it replacing the nexus 7, 10 or both? I mostly use my 7 for watching stuff so the new 4:3on the 9 would be a little wasted. Also the 7 seems to snuggly fit into most of my coat pockets

I've been given a kindle fire HD that was mistakenly posted to my parents a year ago roughly. They were naughty and kept it as it wasn't signed for.
Anyway, my dad reckons if I register it then they'll want it back or something. Any chance of that? Can't be bothered rooting it and all that business, I just want to use its existing features which you have to sign in to amazon for. -

Not sure if they'll be looking but if they are you'll probably have to fuck with the imei and stuff to change it properly. You can probably hide it all behind some network jiggery pokery without too much effort though if it's just being used at home.

Probably best to set it on fire though.

I only want it to just browse the web and download a few apps and games for home use but can't be fucked with doing anything to it.
Obviously when you register the device with your amazon account they'll know the serial number which might flag it as lost/stolen is all.
Just go for it? Whats the worst that could happen? -

Thank you for the advice brother -

My girlfriend is phone-less thanks to a black cab driver and its a real pain in the ass having no method of communication with her.
Would you sell it? Or even better, lend it to her until she can get it sorted in a week or so?
Can exchange for beer or something? (For the lending, wouldn't expect to buy it for beer) -

I have a Motorola Droid, a Galaxy s1, s2 and a couple of old blackberrys kicking about here. They're all pretty beaten up so I can't really sell them but they still work so I feel bad about throwing them away.

If it can text and use internet (bonus) then that would be enough. Not to worry though if you don't fancy it

I have very little use for a smart phone these days, apart from fielding job offers, keeping track of my diary, getting in touch with my nearest and dearest and general wasting time on the internet (when I could actually be in the pub)... Most phones are pretty smart now, take your pick...
I think the chase is over for me...

Record your rides with IpBike and or install mytrails and download some terrain maps and GPX routes for touring (all can be done without SIM). Put it in a plastic bag while riding.

Do you think it has something to do with (old) age? :-p

Yap phone is great if you could get hold of 1. I have had minor problems with it, like hanging randomly and all quiting randomly, but doesn't it happen to most smart phones the days sometimes?
I have also not had to contact customer support and to be honest, I am an apple fan so any customer service is not good enough when compared with apple...
The only critisim I have is the keyboard, I don't know if its just this phone or does it apply to other andriod phones, I find the keyboard not as precise as the iPhone one... But I am pretty sure its me not used to it more than anything else...
Bottom line is if you can get hold of 1 then its a great phone with a very reasonable price tag.

I'm going to have a reasonably good condition Nexus 5 for sale in a week's time.
£175, it's the white 32GB model.
It is rooted with TWRP, on Android 4.4.4 and will be factory reset before sale (this does not unroot it or relock it, it simply removes all my apps and data ready to take yours). Upgrade to Android L will not be automatic due to the rooting of the phone, but will be relatively easy by following some online guide in the coming weeks.

I'm guessing from this that you've not currently got any invites going spare...
I'm now actively hunting for one.

Anyone know how to access the internal storage of a Moto G that has been screenlocked and has no internet connection? ie. the Google account reset won't work nor can a screen unlocker be downloaded.

Is it possible to enable WiFi via USB? Then the phone would be on the 'net and he could do the Google Account reset
Nexus 6 is too big and really expensive. No thanks.
Probably going to be a Moto X or its successor when my N5 dies.
