I got a pair of those, apart from looking like a fool, they keep the rain out perfectly. Only trouble is they steam up a little when stationary. Clears up pretty quickly though. And whoever says the vented lenses are better, they used to steam up too on my jawbones just not as much.

Nice ride in, arm warmers were off halfway again, and people were staring at me in their full rain jackets and full fingered gloves. It really isnt that cold out there. Cycle harder.

Cycling cap pulled down close to glasses keeps most of the rain off. Just have to avoid sitting behind someone without good mudguards to avoid the water being flicked up from below.
Never bothered with overshoes (even on Audaxes where I'd spend 20+ hours in
Welsh sunshinerain). Commute in wearing cycling socks and change into normal socks (and jeans/t-shirt/etc) after a shower. Commute home in my "office" socks. Jersey/shorts will dry even in our damp changing rooms.Old newspapers kept in my locker to bunch up and stick in shoes if they're particularly wet, otherwise it's just a large tub of HTFU.

Looks like I get to be Wet Socks Guy...hmmm been called worse. Anyway yeah I do carry a second pair each day. I meant all this chat in reference to getting the wet ones dry - not that I coudn't figure out how to obtain dry feet once I'd come in from the rain. But these are all outstanding suggestions nonetheless.

Concur with the newspaper in the shoes trick, dries them out really quickly and prevents them from smelling too bad. I've never bothered with overshoes either, only thing I can imagine they are good for is keeping the oil off the shoes as they will still get soaked through in heavy rain. Only thing to prevent soaked shoes is full mudguards in combo with overshoes.

Pure Scoble, talking about something you don't know about.
The way to prevent soaked shoes is to only ride in dry conditions.

Heated towel rack is the best thing to come with our flat. Shoes on top overnight. Toasty. Winning.

I use Salclear TT and TT-X on my cheapie safety glasses. Helps stop them fogging and beads water off them.

In motorbike commuting days I used to buff a tiny amount of neat washing up liquid onto the visor (inside and out) each week. Cheaper than using Bob Heath spray.
Might try the washing up liquid trick on my glasses.

^Wouldnt it froth up in the rain though?

At least he would have had a sparkly clean helmet.

Everyone wants that...

TT is for the inside of the lens - stops fogging.
TT-X is for the outside of the lens - helps keep it clean and beads water or something. -

When scuba diving we just gob in the mask and rub it around with our fingers. It's a lovely pastime.

It hasn't quite come to needing scuba kit but sometimes I wonder if it might make more sense. #soggybritain

well, a snorkel would get rid of the possibility of breath fogging up goggles/glasses.
It's a winner.

^Wouldnt it froth up in the rain though?
It never did for me. Weekly reapplication was the only drawback.

Me neither.

Do you use them on your cheapie glasses because they're aggressive on lenses or is it fine to use them on pricy lenses as well?
-
• #2775
Should be fine on most stuff but double check with salclear.com.
I just have cheap glasses on most of the time.
I do own a few pairs of Oakleys but rarely wear them.
Carry a spare pair of socks, insoles and also pack a portable oil heater.
