How does rain kill powertaps?

I've ridden my SRM through fords. Nervously.

It gets into the hub through the carbon windows or the plastic cover I think.

SRMs stop recording as soon as a tiny twig or bit of grit touches their stupid sensors. I'm not sure I used mine long enough to drown it, the piece of shit.
