No, fitting it in a stem is a good solution. Using it as a head badge is not.
Sorry dubtap but fugly and will get covered in bugs and crud. -

I thought the accepted method was to extra strength double sided tape it to the under side of the stem?

Mine's zip-tied to the stem but the coolest (off the shelf) one I've seen is probably the TriRig Sigma stem...

3T seem to have a similar thing.. but the box isn't in the stem.

It's a non-series, goes by R685, should be out in December (UK), it's available from Bike24 as far as I know.

Yes, see the previous page. Bike24.de have them. I can verify this as mine arrived yesterday.

Why can't it go on the stem? I thought it was located near the shifters?
Meh, 11 speed DA Di2 or GTFO. :)

Because cables enter both sides and need enough play for handlebar movement .. i have zip tied mine to brake cable.

That would still fit in the TriRig stem wouldn't it?

Atm I'm using an old Ultegra 6500 9sp.
I was considering spending around 400-500€ and get a new groupset that fits better the build // that it's 11spd // that is compact.
In that range of € I'm considering the new 105 11spd (5800 I belive) or the Rival22.Shimano all the way up and spend the rest of the money in other upgrades // epo?

• #3491
That's like 600€...

I've decided the 11 speed 105 groupset on my Pinnacle is very "meh".

If you zip-tie your front wiring harness control box to the stem then you can a) see the light clearly and b) operate the button easily:

I was considering it. Can you elaborate a little? Nice one
-
• #3495
Why?
It's 105 and £340 after all.

Ultegra 6800 £459.99 at Ribble atm

noob question - what's the weight penalty of running disc brakes over calipers?
-
• #3498
Hard to say, as your rims don't need a braking surface the wheels can be lighter.
-
• #3499
My 7970 box is zip tied to my stem without any steering issues.

But you need more spokes etc.
If you are seriously considering discs over callipers then marginal weight gain shouldn't really be an issue.
Actually a very good solution .. sadly I cant on mine give the size of HT :(
