  • Yes, £801 including postage...about £50 less that I paid for my last V1 (v2 forks) last year, complete with Phils and 75's....that got written off though when I got hit by a car. Still got the wheels and bar / stem from that one to re-build this one.

    finished at $1160...

  • Well done.

I'm convinced that I'm never going to own one of these...

  • never say never

although bmw's prices have also gone up recently

  • Nah I'm looking for something else and wouldn't spend that cash on a gangsta right now.

Surprisingly I don't miss mine as much as I thought I would, still want another but not in a situation where I'd sell any of my current frames to own one.

  • although bmw's prices have also gone up recently.

    Like everything else.

  • Yeah but BMW prices have skyrocketed in the past year.

Anyone who bought one new in the US last year could sell for a profit pretty easily now.

  • Don't be so negative Ed.

  • They're overpriced at $550

  • They're overpriced at $550

But they're so awesome to ride and everybody wants them. Surly that is not correct, is it?

  • Personally, I owned one, and I found it horrific, it was too heavy and rode like crap. It felt like the seat tube angle was too slack and I was always leaning over the back wheel so couldn't get any power down. However, that's personal preference, so I guess if you love them then even £1,000 isn't overpriced. My advise would be that if you're thinking of getting one and are thinking about paying the hipster tax premium then make sure you try one for more than 2 miles first, as you might not like it (like me)

  • Don't forget the import tax man. Think you might be looking at around £120 from the US..

  • @countryboj

Yes I am aware of that one....I will have been paid by the time it gets delivered.

Also need to think about whether I want to re paint it and I need to get some v-brake bosses brazed on.

Think I will need to sell a few bits to cover costs

  • +1 for the respray! Would ride it brakeless.

  • @countryboj

If I rode it brakeless I would be looking for another V1 in a short space of time...commuting 24miles a day brakeless is asking for trouble. I'd feel happier with a v-brake on the front at least.

Was thinking of getting re-sprayed to match my Masi....

  • My days, I thought I was the only one! I think it suits larger riders actually (yes fatter and taller).

  • I like mine but after 40 miles on a road ride it can get a bit bumpy… I actually find myself leaning more forward on it but I think thats down to it being not set up correctly.

Would struggle to pay over £800 for a frame only now tbh… I think when i bought mine a few years ago it was about £550 with cranks(3 piece) post and stem and at that time felt it was a lot of money….

  • I know that Senor Bear was sniffing around the V2 last week.

He is full of shit. About a month ago he was telling me how hipster is my bike, when he saw it in the office parking area.

Coming from you , @Señor_Bear , not sure if it was an insult or a compliment.

  • I have too much time on my hands so I'm finding too much stuff I can't buy

  • Which fenders are those? Seem to fit a bit better than mine...

  • "Never used" - considering the rusty looking state of it, I find this hard to believe. Either that or it's been kept outside?

  • Raw steel in a humid environment probably.

  • Ah. Fair enough then :)
