• i bought a pair of originals about 5 years back and they have been working fine ever since
i bought a pair of evo's a couple of years back and the freewheel mechanism is already a bit shonky / not moving 100% freely the cranks rotate while walking the bike rather than remaining still thus there is some excess friction in the drive train, the cassette carrier has begun to feel a little bit notchy... i know it's just a matter of pulling it off and whacking some grease in, but i just feel the older hubs are made slightly better ... or it may be the sealed bearings they are using were slightly better either way i just have a better feeling for the originals

i haven't given hope a call but will do that today

No, there is some excess friction in the freewheel, which has no effect on the drive since the freewheel doesn't freewheel while it's driving :-)
