When you say unwind, you mean gets shorter?
Sounds like it's faulty, I've got a couple of exactly the same model that don't.

I think I figured out what the problem is. The end caps of the gear outer were in the adjuster tight, so they couldnt twist relative to the adjuster. So when I adjusted tension with them, it was putting in a twisting preload, thus unwinding itself later on.
Fixed it with some thin alloy end caps. Fingers crossed it stays put now.

I have one of these.
It unwinds itself slowly with handlebar movement. So I figure I should get an indexed one.
Anyone have any experience with either of these?
