  • I fitted a basket to help with commuting. Was a very tight fit but I made it work

  • What rims are those? TB14?

  • dat stem safe? surely above insertion point.

    getting wider bars would help

    or mutilating le basquet

  • ok, another route thatll be swell; will make colour pop!

  • Yeah, that's the idea behind it :) And I'm big fan of "all black" components...

  • Great job! I love it.

  • Yeah tb14's. I liked the anodised braking surface.

  • Good call, forgot about the insertion point, was 1/2 cm over, all sorted now
Wider bars would be ideal but I'm too lazy to change them for the time being

  • Well Lads, just wondering what'd be the best tool for removing this extractor bolt(C record)

thanks in advance and a DIY option would be nice!

  • sorry, meant to post that to Tool Library thread!

  • Picked up Bob tonight, my velodrome project for the winter. The paint on the rear, mostly the seat stays, was very bubbled and came off with a thumb nail scratch. Quite a bit of water was sitting under the paint but couldn't have been there for long as the metal underneath was mostly still shiny and no major corrosion.
Now to decide whether to rattlecan the rear with as close a match blue (masking off the chrome dropouts and ends of the stays), or just rub with a wire brush to get the last of the loose paint off and clear coat leaving it looking quite ratty.

  • I'd go for ratty.

  • it looks like it is chromed underneath the paint
maybe try and get back to the chrome for the whole rear triangle

  • Thats super interesting if its actually chromed further up @Yukirin!

  • I thought it looked shinier than I expected under there. The whole rear triangle chromed would be cool.

  • Anyone fancy buying an NJS Makino, 54 seat tube, 56 top tube?

Wheels are H+Son TB14 on Ambrosio hubs with dt spokes, perfectly smooth and true. Generic seatpost with Romin saddle, unbranded Cinelli style stem with Nitto bars with Soyo grips and Nitto bar ends, Sugino 75 cranks, Hatta bottom bracket, Hatta Swan headset which is a bit gritty. Gatorskin gp400 front tyre, Hardshell rear. No pedals.

Amazing paint job, sparkly decals. A few scratches and that, a tiny dent on the top tube, no drilling for brakes. Amazing ride quality, stiff but comfortable and no toe overlap.

    £600

  • Dibs the romin pls

  • no

  • you downsizing?

  • yes and no

  • Sumo ditching all the fixeh

  • yummy

    more here ...

  • Chroming stops at the bridge, so options for seatpost to bridge are:
    Bare steel
    Painted silver - no rust
    Rattlecan yellow to match decals
Rattlecan royal blue, but probably won't quite match rest of frame.

  • Was out on german ebay small ads for a LOOONG time. Glad you picked that up.
