  • Tour de France track bike... also known as yellow...

  • Aren't conversions generally not allowed on tracks? Also, isn't that gearing stupidly low for a track bike?

  • Hey Guys, Dan here from rollquick. Since your email Ben we have looked into it and now provide 2 brakes with all bikes on purchases :-) (been extremely busy moving premises). It wasn't something we were aware of with the 2 brake rule. Appreciate all our bikes are not everyones cup of tea but we love doing them and makes me smile seeing them back to life and enjoyed again :-).

  • If you did not know this then you really should not be building or selling bikes. For foffa's sake give up now.

Given the number of dangerous illegal pieces of shit you have sold you better be contacting your customers and recalling this bikes and making them road legal.

    Even on this one?

In all fairness tho 2 is a high number.

  • Good stuff, everyone starts somewhere and learns as they go.

Have you thought about a http://www.cytech.uk.com course?

Getting the basics sorted will make your customers safer and protect you from ending up in court and/or prison.

  • I would have thought Dan might have picked this up during his ten years' experience in a popular bike shop. Unless by 'popular', they mean 'Foffa'.

  • Customers have been contacted. Single-speeds are a fraction of the bikes i do. Feel free to give me a call on 07784122595 if you want to discuss your concerns and ill be happy to chat.

Working on retro bikes is something i love doing and is not something i will stop.

  • Viscount is being changed as we speak. Thanks Hefty, Yeah i have done a cytech course for bike mechanics. Although it may need updating now i think if it does expire :-)

  • Don't take anything here too seriously but do act on genuine feedback (not trolling - see last comment). Good luck with the business.

  • Thanks Stevo. I appreciate the feedback and of course things will be changed straight away. I am a new business but id rather work on bikes than sat in an office all day :-). Will hopefully have some valuable input on this forum in the future with the more i learn.

  • For a new business you appear to have sold in excess of 100 bikes. I am amazed that a cytech mechanic does not know that a bike needs two brakes. Something does not stack up.

  • Apologies for that james. Like i said it'll all change now. Around 400 bikes sold in the last year and a half with a handful being single-speed. Most are racers.

  • We are not your target customers, and we are the hardest critics you'll ever have. Read, learn and adjust, but I'd personally strongly advise not to consider ever replying to anything on here or engaging with us in any way.

LFGSS does not have a track record of forgiving companies that don't ship safe and decent quality bikes, we are likely a PR nightmare for you (read many pages of the Foffa thread for an idea)... for your own good, stop replying. Sign-out, and never sign back in.

Your may be able to carve out a section of the budget bike market, you may be able to increase your quality and safety to represent that sector well. You'll never win over this site, and you do risk us destroying your reputation for good. Move on, and we'll probably forget about you if you do ship safer bikes.

This isn't a threat, read the Foffa thread... realise how this community destroys small businesses. Run a fucking mile, run some more.

  • Yeah understand about you guys not being my target market just thought id get my point accross and i admit i have been wrong.

    1. I now know obviously to change things
    2. I will change them with immediate effect
    3. I appreciate some of the kind words

Take care guys, have a good day.

  • internet bike safety police - AAAAASSEMMMMBLE!

  • That was one of the most entertaining warnings I've ever read.

  • great page

  • read the Foffa thread... realise how this community destroys small businesses. Run a fucking mile, run some more.

    Amazing. Just amazing.

  • it must be hard trying to start a small business and having you life destroyed by a bunch of idiots on the internet...

    @Velocio

  • Worth adding that this community also supports small businesses, typically where they offer a fair product on fair terms.

  • Yeah i have done a cytech course for bike mechanics.

In that case, you know it's illegal to sell bicycles that doesn't complied with BS6102-1.

  • banned from life.

    teensy bit harsh?

  • Epic win

    Comment below it:

I don't know about this show, but when I read the words "walking and talking dead" they reminded me of my past when I was gay living in homosexuality- like a dead guy with no real joy and love, only looking for another man to fix my emptiness.
But not forever! Jesus restored me into my real self and with that, homosexuality had to leave.
Enjoy the show, whatever it is about, but also be very careful what you watch- it all goes deep into you and shapes your views and your life.

    epic fail.
