Bamboo is just rayon, it has nowhere near the anti odour properties of wool.
If you shower everyday, you could probably get 3-4 days out of merino before having to launder. When travelling I'll just wash them in the sink with whatever shampoo is available, the good stuff (icebreaker, et cetera) will dry overnight.
