I fixed a flat i've had for ages. This bike needs so much TLC, the wheels are fucked. I miss 48H
-

I too miss 48h. I've had to rebuild my back wheel 3 times in 14 months since moving to 36h.

So is that just the same frame I've got?
-
• #456
yes but yours is slightly bigger

Cool, hopefully I'll be back to riding it badly soon.

If Dakin doesn't take it i'd be interested Object
Noted. Though it looks like it is a forgone conclusion that he's taking it.

My bike feels like it's rolling nice again. It's been a nightmare few months with numerous broken chains, spokes, peg sleeves, punctures and I even managed to snap a tooth off my driver. Today it was treated to a new chain, driver, drive side hub guard and some fresh Edwins and it's feeling solid again. I should have got the drive side hub guard sooner, opposite double pegs feel so much better with it!

Does anyone have a dirt cheap fork I can buy? I have bent mine ,also does anyone want to give me their old brake mount kit.

Here is mine.
Subrosa novus frame
S & m pitchfork and slam xlt bars
Mcneil stem
United cranks
Fbm sprocket
Alien rear wheel
Primo pro front amongst other thingsHad some issues with it lately unfortunately and hadn't ridden it in a long time. Crank keeps seizing up. Trying to sell it but bmxs are tough to sell by the seems of it.

Made a few changes to mine since last time, got some twombolts and a million dollar sprocket good deal from a friend, took off my aluminium hub guards on the front and got glands, they were snagging so much 50-50ing ledges the glands are much smoother, also using premium slim PC pedals now, my favorite were hamiltons, Tried JCPC didn't like and tried ANML BPE, these are the best so far, oh also ODI XL long necks

Looking good Voidcore. You can't go wrong with the Twombolt and MDS combo.
^^The front end on that brings back memories, it's almost a shame that the rest of the bike isn't from the same era. I'm sure that when you're riding it you feel the opposite way though! Selling bmx stuff can be a nightmare purely because the majority of your potential customers are kids with no money.

Just won this on eBay so not actually with me yet.
Reckon the bars have been chopped down a bit or are just narrow as the grips are onto the bends so I might pick up some wider ones. Probably rattlecan the rims black. Looks like there's a hubguard on the r/h side of the rear wheel which is good, maybe get a Gland for the front, have they improved the design lately so that the zip ties don't constantly snap?
It's been a few years since I've owned a BMX so I won't be doing anything great on it but looking forward to having something to smash around on again.

Could just be ODI longneck XL grips.

Aye. I'll try them n see. I kinda quit bmx before the massive bars thing really happened anyway so they it'll probably be fine.
What won't be fine is if this gets delivered while the mrs is home!

• #468
nah those bars are probably like 23" wide. Awesome

I use shoelaces or fishing wire to hold my V2 glands on. The shoelaces tend to last longer but the fishing wire lets you make multiple passes and holds them on tight.
The V3 ones have bumps on the back and take bigger cable ties though so maybe it's less of a problem with them.

yeh iv got v3 and using zipties, so far so good

Received the bike tonight.
First thing - It weighs a fuck ton.
That's ok though, it'll save me going to the gym.
Other than that, it all seems in pretty good nick. I just chucked it together in the dark to have a wee ride and it was ok.
Some stuff needs doing like the front wheel bearings are a tad loose, the dropouts on the fork appear to have been filed from 10 to 14mn, badly. I'll sort that out ASAP. The bolts on the rear hub were playing up, roli g the wheel forward when I tightened them and needing the other side holding with a spanner, a wee clean n grease should go a long way to fixing that I think.
The bare are rather narrow but I'm going to persevere.

Anyone know the spec of the bolts for the old G Sport hubs?
The threads looked a little worse for the wear when I was working on it earlier and I figure if new bolts are just a couple quid I may as well but I don't know of any decent fastener suppliers that deal with the public up here so I have a feeling ordering online is going to be easier than trawling round places with one of the old bolts.

Marmoset and Monkeys take 3/8ths 24tpi bolts.
Homers take 9/16ths 18tpi bolts.
You'll want them in 1.5" length.

Cheers @bmxed.
I had another look and even though the threads on the bolts look a bit flattened they tighten up just fine.
Think I might need to switch out the sprocket, it's a Gusset 3/16" thing with the appropriate chain and the chain is s bit shitty and new ones in that size don't seem too common.

Yeah you're definitely best going back to a standard 1/8" set-up if it's a bit worn out, you'll have trouble finding the parts and it's heavy. If you want a more heavy duty 1/8" chain then check out the KMC 510HX.
Midas Touch
Hopefully it stays like this without any issues for a while. It's nice to have a quiet bike again.
