I have the same thing from the snoopy character and a few others, but can only see how to block people that are actively following me. Can 'althetes' who are not following me be blocked?

Probably not, strava is pretty shit.

You can block them, go to their profile, next to the "follow" button top right, click the cog button, then "Block athlete".

It there anyway of finding out if my strava logs are using GPS or the barometric sensor for altitude?
I just did a test ride with my phone using ant wheel + crank data, and its own barometer for altitude vs. Strava, got more or less the same distance and averages, but estimated powers were well off, and altitude climbed was noticeably different, though couldn't say which was right!

Yeah, on the web version of strava go to your activity. If the word "Elevation" under the figure for ascent is a hyperlink with a ? after it. Then it's using barometric pressure, and clicking this link will show a menu to refetch elevation data from google maps (or something similar)

They changed the design of the strava feed a little, not Strava Enhancement Suite doesn't remove challenges etc like it should :(

Some new features too, eg. when uploading files manually, if you press CTRL+Enter after editing the activity title, it will automatically press "Save & View" for you when done so you don't have to wait for Strava to process your century ride..

+1 being followed by G U N A W A N . Man's a serial kudos-giver. If you have "(Fixed)" at the end of your name, he'll probably end up following you.

Not if you set your account to "enhanced privacy mode" in https://app.strava.com/settings/privacy

You can't moan that people are following you if you are allowing anyone to follow you.

I get having your club in brackets after your name, and I can kinda get why people put (fixed) after their name, but I saw a guy with (FLAT BAR HYBRID) after his name on a leader board the other day.
