  • ps. its getting cold, have started to wear gloves and scarf again, #autumn

  • I've been commuting on a Brompton for the last couple of days. Whenever I see another Brompton rider we give each other a look and a wave. My dad used to do this if he saw anyone driving the same car as him and I used to find it really embarassing.

I've officially turned into my dad.

  • *waves at hats...

  • I still haven't forgiven my brompton for unceremoniously tossingthrowing me off 2 months back.

  • Never see anyone riding the same bike. sells bikes

  • I was gonna wave at a guy on a Pompino (same as me) the other day but I got closer and realised it was a Pompetamine, so I kicked his disc rotors in.

  • Posh cunt...

  • Really? But I see loads of people riding these:

  • Ow. Ow. Ow. Was on Loughborough Road, just a couple of minutes away from home, last night, when some lunatic suicide ped came sprinting out of an off-license (as if he had stolen something and was being chased), leapt between the parked cars and landed directly in front of me. Managed to avoid him but not the crap he dropped in his panic. Came off bike. Bastard grabbed his shit and ran. Frankly, hope he ran in front of a car, because I was and am in serious pain.

Good news: no head damage (just very mild concussion for about 20 minutes) and no fractures. Bike ok.

Bad news: ligament strain in both wrists (left in a splint for the next week or so), small bit of skin taken off the back of my right ear.

Spent hours in KCH A&E last night. Appointment at St Thomas's this morning for repair of ear (please not a graft).

Fuck you, you insane cock ped. If it had been a car (or even just a less careful cyclist), you would be seriously injured.

Have the light strenght and control in my hands to roll a joint. Wish I still smoked. Anything requiring leverage power and exertion of wrist ligaments is challenging. Am using wooden spoons to lever open the fridge, trun on taps, lever clothing on and off etc.

  • Hope you heal up quickly.

  • Shit. Sorry to hear that Bruce. Obviously there's never a good time for something like this to happen but for it to happen so soon after your last off is particularly bad.

Hope all goes well with the new ears and that you feel better soon.

  • Saw a mini crash yesterday evening on Tufnell Park Road. Guy up ahead of me was too close to the car in front of him. Car stopped for zebra crossing and the guy obviously wasn't concentrating hard enough and I think he went into the car. Anyway, his back wheel shot in the air. He said he was OK. Looked a bit embarrassed.

  • GWS Bruce

  • PUTNEY BRIDGE HAS RE-OPENED!

Thank f*ck for that. Was getting fed up of walking the bike over......

  • Blimey, heal soon dude.

First commute in for 3 weeks, nice ride in on pretty empty roads until Borough. Still amazes me that peds think its ok to walk across the ASL box while cyclist are moving into it. Also why do people when crossing the road check the on coming traffic on the opposite side of the road rather the the road they are across with the traffic coming towards them? Twice this morning peds walked out looked left but not once did they check there right.

  • Accidentally in my morning fuzziness turned onto the A12 by Bow and spent 90 seconds of minor panic trying to cross 3 lanes of rapid lorries heading for the Blackwall tunnel. Never been so happy to see the awful road surfacing of Hackney Wick. For all the drivers, sorry, but at least I hope you got the joke of a 95kg man on a track bike wearing KOM polka dots.

  • One week back on the MTB after a couple of years off it and the legs are feeling very sore by the end of the week. Hopefully that will equate to stronger legs in the near future.

  • Was getting fed up of walking the bike over......

Fuck - were all of the other bridges closed too?

  • Shit Bruce - heal up soon.

  • Sorry to hear that. Get well soon. What sort of time was that? I saw some dodgy looking blokes hanging around there about 6:30.

  • Yes just read your post Bruce, heal up soon. Fucking hate peds.

  • Two words .. PUTNEY BRIDGE

  • No, but this was the least worst option. The only sensible alternative would have meant negotiating the Wandsworth one way system. I'd rather shove wasps up my arse than do that.

  • That bridge being open meant my commute was as peaceful as possible in London this morning. Hardly any nodders on the Fulham route that I take; there was some cat 6 racing aggression but nothing major.

Its just very humid today; shouldn't have worn a base layer today.

    8.5/10 Would ride again
