Thanks, that puts your previous comments into some context.
What have you actually done? I only give praise where it is deserved and i certainly have not gone OTT over Mario and his Brother.
To answer your question, nothing (in the context of this thread).
Whether you have been "OTT" or not is subjective, but appearing on a forum and only posting praise for a business (not to mention your curious emphasises and your insistence that we should take your word for it), bears all the hallmarks of a stooge.

Thanks (I doubt). I always fancied myself, more as a Eustinov-era Poirot: old habits and all that (my strike-rate is pretty good too).
...but when someone comes on and contributes properly to an existing thread, some of them (oh hai @edscoble) continue to get their knickers in a knot.*
Is "OMG totes amazeballs; I'm telling you, so it's TRUE" x2, really a proper contribution, rather than nonsense?
Ed's comment hardly reads as knicker-knotting either.

Nice lug lining it seems on that one!
It looks even from this picture.Anyone knows if he has a box lining tool too?

Ed's comment reads completely and utterly as knicker-knotting, unwelcoming and rather sad.
Emmo backed his credentials up from the get-go, stated that he was not only unconnected to Mario's business but had never even met them before, and offered up far more personal information than most others do when joining a forum. Get over yourselves. -

Exactly this. Too many cynics on here. I thought he was just enthusiastic about meeting some nice chaps doing good work - which is what Mario is.

- I live in New York, it wasn't 3am here when I posted.
- Re-read Emmo's original post. Plenty of info in there.
- In retrospect I should have perhaps used your name instead of Ed's, as your replies were far more CONDESCENDING.

Should I put a smiley on it next time?

I just thought it would be a nice thing to do, giving Mario some well earned praise as i know he has had some bashing in the past. I cannot comment on some problems that some formites may have had but on my experience, time wise, and the job he has done i thought it only fair to give him 10/10. As for Winston i do not think it needed me to tell people what a great builder he is, his reputation goes before him, after all those years at Roberts. But having met him he also turned out to be a really nice guy. As for getting excited, i
m a cycle nut, don
t you look forward to seeing an old retro frame coming back to its former glory, and it needed two great blokes to do that, Mario and Winston. Also SCILLY my frames went to Suffolk, Essex, London and the midlands. When BMX came in strong in the early 80s i made many custom built frames for racing and stunt work and one of the riders rode many times for England. I
m sorry if it came across heavy in my first two visits, but as said before Mario has had some hard on here so i thought it would be nice (and helpful to others) to give him some praise. I look forward to coming on this forum again in the future, as i believe all forums can be of good use. If anybody is interested i could post some pictures on here of another bike i have,it`s a H.R.Morris with VERY fancy lug work and with nearly all old Super Record Campag on it. They were the last set of lugs to be cut by Dick Morris and he cut his full name in the top head lug and in the bottom head lug he cut SANS PEREIL, it means without equal. -

Pictures please! And also do come to forum drinks (see "social" section) and rides, lot of nutters who can spend hours looking at lugs! (I'm one of them)

Have you got a picture of those wonderful lugs from the front too? -
• #547
I hope you enjoy them. Just a few lines to explain about the frameset. Dick Morris had a shop in London when he was about 78yrs he moved to be with his son near Cambridge. By then he like me had stopped building and had got rid of all his gear. I did not come across Dick untill he was about 96yrs old, i went to see him at his home and had a great time talking with him. He said when he was about 90yrs old he thought he would spend some time cutting his last lug set out for something to do but said it would have been nice to have seen it made up. I was in between houses at the time but agreed it would be great, soon afterwards Dick had a stroke and i went and saw him in Addenbrookes Hospital and tried to encourage him by saying when you get out Dick we`ll get that lugset made up. But Dick died some time after, i went to his funeral and kept in tough with his son. His son sold me the lugset and i then got it made up. I hope i have done Dick proud, he was a truely great craftsman. I had the date stamped on the underside of the bottom bracket the day Dick died, i hope you enjoy the pictures and this small story about Dick Morris.

Beautiful stuff, @Emmo... Thanks for your posts...
Ignore @Scilly.Suffolk and @edscoble... They're knobs, nobody on here likes them...
Don't mind @Scilly.Suffolk - he's a lovely chap really, but give him a mystery and he's suddenly Miss Marple.
Welcome to the forum.
It's funny, people on here get all het up when new members post nonsense, but when someone comes on and contributes properly to an existing thread, some of them (oh hai @edscoble) continue to get their knickers in a knot.
