@Velocio, one thing I have discovered through testing is that while one thread is timing out, others are accessible. If one thread on the Following page isn't working for me, it won't work for me if I open it in a second or third tab - yet most or all other threads will work, even if I open them in new tabs while the problem thread is still failing. This might suggest that the CDN is routing any one url I try for across the same problem infrastructure, but that others traverse different routes. Or that your own load-balancers or reverse proxies are doing this. I know CloudFlare uses nginx - maybe they are mapping requests to your upstream servers based on the request uri.
If they are, it could be exacerbating the problem, even if it is not the cause. Might even be the cause, although I don't think it's just the most popular threads where I'm seeing this problem.

Happenes evry 10 or so tabs for me
