23mm tyres were designed for rims 5mm narrower. I just wonder if messing with the designed profile of the tyre has any unforeseen consequences.

What I was thinking exactly: are these tyres made for the wide rims in real life? Will try a 25 mm. Meanwhile which direction did you mount a Four Seasons again?

The Bontrager AW2/3 address this by having a wider profile with a tiny sidewall;
The downside is that it's even more difficult mounting it on the rims.

What do you mean? More information. HED approves 23mm; but I am now thinking this way as well very concerned that I might have not spotted the damage due to the rim design.
