  • Alternatively, dip it so that I can ride behind you on a brightly lit bit of red road.

And not some namby-pamby just below horizontal angle either. At least 30 degrees or GTFO.

Red electrical tape (double layered) is a cheap and effective diffuser for over-zealous LEDs.

  • I wish there was still multi quote, this was going to be a reply to hippies three led race woes...

Take one of these with a red gel over it:

  • My new Supernova stuff arrived, very cool.

  • Really bad idea, getting broad spectrum light from an LED then throwing big chunks of it away...

Might as well de-solder the LEDs and fit ones which only emit red light, but for the impossibility of hand-soldering parts into a device designed for SMD components and reflow soldering...

Glue three single-LED red ones together and claim them to be a single unit.

  • Which USB rechargeable rear lights have a group ride setting?
My lezyne thing is approved for TNRC because of its amazing red electrical tape app.

Did Smart ever get around to fixing the seal on their R1? Is it USB chargeable yet?

  • Oh Em.

  • I was about to explain that a 4k lumin rear would probably be a bad idea anyway, but rob sums it up better.

  • Exposure blaze rear light is fantastic, v v bright, rechargeable and does not have any of the problems of the flare. I gave up with my flare light for the same reason as others, having a light that would turn itself off was a nightmare.

  • Any recommended front light for a 30 minute commute? I'm thinking of purchasing the moon comet/meteor combo, somebody have used it?

I use a lezyne microdrive and a FibreFlare, and I think it's an ace combo if your commute is in a well lit area.

  • That's good to hear.

Has anyone used an Exposure light with their TAP system, where you whack the light to make it change mode? It sounds a bit shit. Considering my Flash/Flare set turn themselves off when you hit a pothole, are Exposure just turning a bug in to a feature?

  • the rubber on/off button fell off my Lezyne Macro front light at some point during last nights ride. I have to shove something in the hole to turn it on/off now.

  • I have to shove something in the hole to turn it on

  • my work internet is blocking that picture, probably for the best.

  • Does anyone know where I can find Exposure rechargeable CR123 batteries?

I lost one, bought some replacements from Amazon, but despite being CR123s, they're slightly longer which means my Exposure Spark doesn't work properly any more. If I screw the back fully on, it goes into this weird mode where it won't turn on or off but emits about 1% capacity at all times. If I unscrew it slightly it seems to work OK, but then while riding it either turns off or goes back to that weird mode. It's basically rendered the light useless and I can't find anyone who sells those batteries any more. Buying the disposable ones doesn't seem worth it as I'll be spending £6/week on batteries.

  • amazon.co.uk/Exposure-RCR123A-Li-Ion-Rechargeable-Batteries/dp/B00AAV3OCK/

Perfect, didn't see them on Amazon. Poor google-fu

  • I actually use the Nitecore ones. They discharge faster... but that's the point, they make the light brighter.

Scratch that... reading the mAh on the side of the pictures suggests that the present offering is that the Exposure ones (from those two adverts) is the more powerful.

  • Fuck it, I just lost the bit of the end cap that the spring attaches to. New light time...

  • Regarding my 3-LED solid rear light. I have a Cateye TL-LD610 which possibly still works. Have they brought out anything newer that does a better job? It needs to last min 12 and max 24hrs on solid (no flash).

Oh, this will probably not mount to an aero post nor fit nicely under the saddle (ISM Adamo) - any other options?

  • Bought Hope Vision 1 LED light this week. Pretty good so far.

  • Heh, I'm about to sell two of those (they are great but magnets > batteries)
