Cables are symmetrical and they're that anti tangle insulation that all new headphones seem to have too.
Mine don't have the microphone or buttons but I believe there is an E10 model with that available. A quick search of Amazon shows that they're a bit pricier than the standard E10, but the 2012 E10M is still available for a bargainous £20.
Make sure you buy the Comply Foam tips though, they really make the difference.
E10s with Comply Foam tips are great while riding, mine are either in my pocket or in my ears, I never seem to put them down.
I wear them all the time I'm at work, on the bike, on the train, while I'm sleeping, I find them better than the RHA MA350s ever were, and I thought they were a revelation.
