  • As in the price for a 34mm one would be £40 and the price for a 38mm one would also be £40, the price only being driven down if 2 people wanted 34mm ones etc.?

  • No, I think if the basic design remains the same, turning down the OD to different sizes won't make much difference, so most of the usual economies of scale apply. Unless you've got a 1.5" steerer, I'd expect the actual sizes to be from 24mm down to about 22mm for typical 1⅛" carbon steerers. As currently drawn, it doesn't really work below 23mm OD, but I could tweak that if there's demand from people with thick walled steerers. It would also be cheaper (incremental cost of extras, first one wouldn't change much) without the swiss-cheese effect, if people are not concerned about 2.8g of extra mass.

  • First up I'll put the option for 1.5 steerers but I doubt there will be too many buyers, that said canyons do have an entire thread on the forum...
I'll reccomend measuring with digital verniers.
    I couldn't care less about 2.8 grams when I'm saving 30!
Thread about to be made and I'll @ you so you can keep track

  • Canyons are 1¼" at the top aren't they? That would need a plug of ~27mm OD. If you're interested, I have one spare stem-cap-with-integrated-spacer to fit 1¼", it's already anodised black but you could have it engraved or laser etched, same price as normal size.

  • That'd make more sense actually, i was thinking that 1.5inch did sound a bit big, it's giant and canyon that use the 1.5 inch to 1 1/4 inch taper.

Thanks, asked me that about 8 months ago and I'd have bitten your arm off but alas, my giant has now gone, I'm looking to get this bung to full tester-out my caad10's cockpit, slam and stem cap already purchased, just need the bung.

Actually before I make the thread, have you got a rough (or as it's you, very accurate) weight in an effort to bring out the closet weenies

It's ~9g for the bung + top cap + aluminium screw, that's the Swiss cheese version. Add 3g for cheddar and 3.5g for stainless steel screw and you're looking at 15.5g for the budget version. There's about 0.5g of Araldite Fusion to account for if you want a true comparison with an expander style bung.

  • Due to PayPal being a bunch of cunts, they won't be getting any more business from me. Payment for any future orders will be by bank transfer or cash only. If that affects your decision to purchase, take your name off the list.

  • @McVittees & @via_condotti check your messages, I'm awaiting payment.

  • Not sure if you've mentioned but when is the batch due?

  • Depends on the machinist's workload, sometimes they get done inside a week other times it takes a month. I'm hoping for mid-October delivery.

  • Do you only need advance payment for custom sizes? Hopefully I'll be at the HC on the 5th so I can give you some money then.

  • Yes, prepayment is only for custom depths, I'll be making 2mm deep ones in 45/46/47/48mm diameter.

  • PM'd
