Yup, reasonable weight and strength, ironically lighter than the Duo Lowrider.

While I'm here... Are there any rebuildable (think Paul or Avid Black Ops) mini-v brakes? One of my CX9s has died, figured it might be worth looking for other options 2 years on...
-
• #7709
Just how did it die? Reckon it worth bothering TRP about warranty?

The "plate" where the spring arm hooks onto has split at the exit point and the spring arm has caught under the adjuster screw and stripped the threads. Can't remember the last time I went near those with an allen key so I originally put it down to general wear 'n' tear, but at the same time I might have messed up installing it originally and not realised... Going to send them so photos when I get chance to take a pic in daylight and see what they say...
For now I think I've managed to cobble together enough bits for a second bar/lever/brake/cable combo to save me having to piss around too much to get the bike working again.

Do it. Any 29er wheelset will work. Shimano if you want cheap and cheerful or hope hoops if you want solid functionality.
Same goes for brakes really. -

Flat Tyre not very Functional...

Same thing happened to mine, on two out of the four arms. Must be a design flaw but nothing else came up when I googled it.

Interesting!
I have half switched some kick ass v-brakes/silly bars and stuff onto it to get it working, then I got bored. In more bike-destruction fun - I am a bit concerned about one of my WI freewheels, almost reluctant to take the wheel/chain off to look properly, been an expensive month already.

It'll just be the bearing, not too expensive if you don't buy from WI. Got mine from a local engineering firm.

I took a quick look this morning, there's a tiny bit of play in the piece with the teeth hopefully it stands up to 50k or so in the Pennines today and then I'll drop it off at my LBS on Monday to take a quick look. If it's the bearing I'd have expected it to last a bit longer, only had it since April/May...

Aye, that does seem short lived, think mine lasted a year of commuting in all weathers, is it not under warranty? As long as it's not covered in shit, it should be?

Motobecane takes me back a bit... this is nice... Not everyone's idea of functional I'm sure, but it'll do....

I'd check the lockring is tight. I had one (albeit a 2nd hand one) fall apart on me seemingly just because the lockring wasn't tightened enough.

@jontea possibly, I bumped into folk from my LBS just as they were leaving, going to pop in and ask them to give it a poke during the week to be on the safe side
@mechanical_vandal thought that at first, seems tight (to the point where I can't undo it)
Held up fine today, it isn't a huge amount of play, just more than the other WI freewheel I have with no play...! I'm sure LBS can get it sorted and it's a good chance for me to sort the gearing out on my KM, reckon my knees will welcome a couple of extra teeth when there's a few extra kilos of luggage strapped on to the bike and a couple of thousand meters of climbing planned!
