Yeah they could have done with staggering the start or giving people different colour race numbers to divide up the start. I had to walk a couple of bits in the first mile too, once where the road just narrowed a bit and then going through the underpass. I think the first mile took us over 10 mins.
The first water station couldn't keep up with the numbers either, cups were being taken as soon as they were filled. It was a lot better at the later stations when everyone was more spread out.
But overall it was very good, nice to have support pretty much all the way around and the marshals were all shouting encouragement too.

I think they should have the start on a much wider road just to get the numbers in. I think I got to the water stations before they got too overwhelmed and I didn't drink at the first couple anyway.
Good race though, I'm sure I'll be back next year.
Need to rapidly increase distance for the marathon now.

Congrats! Thought the course was good, the start was a bit frustrating. Got stuck at the 2:00 pace section and spent the first mile or two desperately trying to move up. Support on the course was fantastic.
