  • Yeah am doing that. Its different in some ways. Very good

  • One question ive got for you whisky lovers.
Do you indulge as a few shots are waaaay less carbs than same amount of beers and so therefore incur less of a spare tyre penalty??

  • ^ this. brings out all sorts of vanilla flavours, 3 or 4 drops is enough

  • Just laid into some morrisons own brand bourbon. Pretty good tbh. We'll worth the price tag, fairly indistinguishable from other standard fare.
Aiming to make the switch from beer...

  • Alright Prolly

  • He's just boosted sales of bourbon and killed the craft beer market dead with that article.

  • This 18yr old Talisker I've got on the go is orgasmic.

  • Prolly? Bastard. I also drink a lot of vodka. Maybe I should just not drunk post.
I don't really understand as whisky tastes like vomit to me, or maybe it's the reminder if youth.
Morrisons also has good craft veer selection... I'm worried for my liver and future alcoholism. But it seems inevitable when stuck in a provincial Stillwater (jazz, manchego, figs and bourbon)
Nb not alone, with flat mate we shared a despondent vigil for better times.

  • Ditto the Talisker Port Ruighe I'm sipping. Not right now obviously, it's not even 9am. Anyway, what's it to you, you're not my real dad.

  • ha! nearly through my bottle of Lagavulin 16 Distillers Edition - man, what a whisky

  • Dredge reply:

Black Grouse with slightly less Drambuie makes a lovely rusty nail. Add orange peel with oils squeezed out for garnish.

  • Don't often drink whisky cocktails but I do like a Rob Roy. Bourbon based cocktails - well, a mint julep is hard to beat.

  • Old Fashioneds or GTFO.

  • I make those when I run out of mint.

  • Bourbon Sour all the way

  • Dredge and a half there. We had a leaving-london party at which all the booze got drunk, including the grouse and cherry liqueur. I vaguely remember what we named a "flaming duke" that consisted of the cherry stuff, brandy and lemon juice.... God I felt terrible the day after.

  • Got sent this image recently and asked which year of Van Winkle to go for.
    He went for the 23.

  • Dollars per glass?

  • Pounds per 50ml

  • I think I paid about £30 for a 25yr Macallan at Hawksmoor. Still don't regret it.

  • 12.5 for a splash of Bulleit. That's the kind of price that will make a person stay at home and drink a whole bottle to themselves guilt-free - cause look what you pay when you go out.

  • Anyone asking you to spend 180 anycurrencies for a drink should know how to spell Manhattan.

  • manhaters gonna manhate

  • 13.5% service

I'm in. Where do I sign?

  • £22 for a bottle of the Aberlour 10 at my local Sainsburys.
    That'll do 'til xmas
