(Tan)damnation! Away for work that weekend.....

I've signed up. Will use that as a catalyst for fettling.

My tandem isn't really in great condition. Might bring it to the start line for some tips on how to improve it from the tandem vets.

@tapsnbath and I will be making cider up in oxford on the 13th unfortunately.
Been looking forward to this for a long time though - definitely up for the next one - have a good one!

Mate, I've a feeling the Mrs is 50:50 for this, so may be in need of a stoker.
-

Do it! Haven't seen you in ages. Plus we might get away with being slightly less conservative with mileage - not that it'll be an epic, just a few more pretty bits either side of the out-of-town drag.
-
• #12
Colour me very keen! Particularly if there's a prospect of upping the distance.

I still need to sort out that dodgy timing chain from last time. Worst case scenario: outriders for the convoy?

Not available in the morning, could catch-up half way be arranged ?

Obviously if mrs dumps is a fan of mile munching we can do more miles with her too. 40 miles was just so that it was a definite open-to-all thing, now the audience is a little more known it can be refined.

of course! the pub stop should be about 2/3rds (or more) of the way through, so you could head out to intercept quite easily. Doing a bit of route thinking tomorrow as I have managed to not do it all weekend.

Mileage, I suspect, may not be the deciding factor for Mrs Dumps (at least not in that way).

I'm so excited. Going to take the tandem out on wednesday evening for some tribe preparation.

Anyone need a stoker?
-
• #22
15 minutes? All you need is a screwdriver that will fit in your ebb hole, and some allen keys to loosen the ebb tightening bolts (and then retighten)

^this. assuming your timing chain is the right length, it's a sub 5 minute job really.
if your timing chain is super stretched then you might need 2 x timing chainrings + chain as well as fiddling with the EBB, which depending on your cranksets can make the job take up to two days ;) -

Wednesday, eh? Hmm...

Cheers gents. That's heartening.
The time has finally come. After many years of anticipation, tandem tribe ride is happening.

Many thanks 6pt for putting it together. I trust it will be very lovely with lots of green stuff and rivers and all things pretty.
Main focus will be on actually having fun. I'm keen to try some 4 way / 6 way tandem socialisation. Maybe even a basket to throw our keys in at the end of the day ;)
Meeting point is Burgess Park near the bmx track, at 10.00am. PM me or 6pt to get mobile numbers etc.
Yeah!
