finished for now, just waiting on a smaller rear cog from joss in the post. I think it needs atacs and a new seat and post (thomson) combo. just unsure on what seat to get..? concor?

Flite 4 real

I'm looking for a square taped bb, 107mm, that isn't too heavy/expensive. Now I'm using a 10e miche that's around 300gr...

They're all going to weigh about the same, unless you spend megabucks on a Ti spindle.

Shimano UN55 is the same weight and inexpensive. Royce/Phil Wood Ti bottom brackets are about 1/2 the weight, but 10x the cost.

What is it?

I just put a 1x10 onto my Singular 29er tonight. Hoping to get out tomorrow after work for a proper spin to see what its like having gears again off road.

The frame is pretty impressively light (for a cheap thing). The stock fork isn't, but rides alright.

Geo... it's hard for me to judge as I've not really ridden many different mtbs of any wheel size. Mine was a good Dartmoor bike but I prefer CX bikes this type of riding (carrying happens).

It's weird to think there weren't many 29ers available in the UK four years ago. Riders at Afan were like "WTF, your wheels are big fella?"

@mustard Diamondback Mojito. You could by them for £200 as a full build a few years ago. Cheap finishing kit obvs, but the frames are meant to ride quite nicely.

@miro_o Yeah, I could probably lose about half a kilo by putting my aluminium forks in but I've always preferred steel over carbon or ally for rigid forks.

Yeah 500g is about right. Those carbon forks flex plenty for a bit more damping but steel forks ride well too, just different.
