  • What's a good entry level computer to use with strava? With accurate elevation readings? Smartphone battery doesn't cut the mustard.

  • A garmin edge 200.

    The altermeter in the edge 500 is affected by weather and actually the most accurate climbing data is that which Strava will overlay on your ride by default. The 200 has no altermeter - so you see Strava's data.

  • Spend your money on a better phone.. Assuming your normal rides are sub seven hours. My phone manages to serve me GPS & music for that length of time, no bother.

  • Hi Mark, someone is selling a Garmin 200 for cheap here. So much better than using your phone. Pretty handy to navigate with too.
