edscoble how large is that libertas frame? Im attempting to build my partner a road bike at the moment and struggling to find anything as small as required. any advice?

It's a child frame designed for 650c wheel, your best solution is a sweep-back bar like the porteur one that help shorten the reach a lots.

650c 2006 Trek 1.2 with Tiagra for £235 BIN on eBum. Collection only from Kenilworth, but at that price it's probably worth the trip.

So as I mentioned before, I've been building a bike for my friend who is 4'11''.
It was tricky but I finally found a Dawes Junior Racer on eBay.
1x8, 26'' wheels, 48cm Seat tube, fairly light and nice classic geometry. After a powdercoat of metallic blue, new wheels, drive train and an awesome eBay find of a Concor 'Junior' Saddle for £10, it's ready to roll, and she is very happy with it.

Why have the photos disappeared??
You served them from some apple site who are giving out expiring urls to the direct images. You probably have to host them some other place imgur.com or flickr or somewhere else that does not mind direct linking. Or just upload them here with the fancy new upload thing.

Tried using Flickr but couldn't get it to work. Anyway, there's one photo of it now.

Worth sharing this as well - http://www.cyclescheme.co.uk/community/round-ups/round-up-bikes-for-shorter-riders
This came up as I was looking for frame options for the other half. Quite a few of the bikes listed here are already on the thread so perhaps this has been a source for the article.

Shoot, would have (short Frau). It didn't sell but that probably means that they wouldn't ship anyways.

Weird. There was a week on it when I found it last night. I wonder if they killed the auction for some other reason.

@user48453 - I'm not a fan of white bikes, but it does look good.
As I'm a titch (4'll), my concern would be the reach first off, then the gearing. When I got my Fuji track (used as SS) it came with 46/15 gearing which my puny legs struggled with. I went through various sprockets and am now using 46/20 which I'm happy with. It means it now takes me 5 mins to start rolling instead of the 30 minutes initially :-).
I forgot to mention that I also swopped to a 60mm stem and changed the handlebars for something a bit smaller, although I can't see what the handlebar size is on the Genesis. Hope you find this useful.

Hi everyone, hope you don't mind me joining in this conversation, but my boy has outgrown his 650c bikes (all too quickly)
So, there's a brand new pair of Miche 650c wheels with tyres and tubes, a New Dolan 650c Kadet track bike, various Pro4 SC tyres and tubes, open to offers really.
The track bike is a 39cm frame and around £250( 400 plus on Dolans site)
The wheels £75 with the tyres and tubes
Tyres, maybe £12 each as they,re brand new and never been fitted.
I'm in London on 10th October so if you want any photos or chat about them give me a message and i'll let you know my number.
All money raised going towards a new bike for Christmas for the boy.
Cheers

26" wheeled Dolan track. Not very clear what size is, perhaps good for the smaller among us? (my size is 50 cm and often "kids size" too on the bay ;)

A junior Carrera road bike from Halfords. Seems to have rave reviews from all customers, only one was from a female. Heavily discounted at the moment.

Halford have some small Carrera for a while, if anyone is going to get one, I would highly advise them to take it to their LBS for a basic service just to ensure it's safe to ride.
I will certainly have to build one for my little missus))
