I did the Thames Meander half last weekend (the summer version) - it was nice, although I don't really have much to compare it with.
Looks like there were about 600 people (including the full marathon), but even though the path isn't very wide, it wasn't too crowded: a couple of spots near the start were tricky for overtaking, but otherwise it was fine.
After a long time off running, am getting slowly back into it again and would like something to aim for in the next few months... Am thinking of signing up to either the Old Deer Park Richmond half or Thames Meander half, which are end of Oct / start of Nov.
Anyone got any experience of having done these before?
And do you reckon that gives me enough time to get ready for it (i.e.two months)? I do loads of cycling so am fit, but it's mostly in terms of conditioning and re-building the running specific muscles that I'm talking about. Did five miles the other day without any repercussions (albeit quite slow), if I add a mile each week should be do-able right?
