I was on the lookout for terrible locking up on the way to work, saw a MTB locked on the stem and a rusty old triumph (I think) locked under the saddle.

I saw a terrible lock technique on the way in today. Bike was just stationary in the middle of the road with no lock or chain or nuffin. I was about to tell the owner what an awful job they had done but they cycled off on it when the lights went green.

It's a shame you didn't post that slightly later so it got caught in the microcosm switchover gap and wouldn't need to be read by future generations.

Calling myself out on this one.
Popped in to the Post Office to send a parcel, came out 10 minutes later and discovered that this is how I had locked my bike.

Seems fine to me, mainly because your front rack turns into a scaffolding pole which is bolted to the ground.

Saw a bike locked with 2 d locks this morning. One around the stem of the handlebars attached to the other one around a railing. No photo as my phone camera is fooked.
Locking a lock. This is so meta that I feel it will tear the space-time continuum.
