9 Hours. 9 hours to go from the very worrying rise of IS and the slaughter of hundreds of muslims and non muslims in Syria and Iraq, torture and the imposition of radiacal sharia law to discussions about Halal meat, and then back to Israel. Surely we could keep the discussions separate?

I remember back when I was in university (politics), we could derail a seminar by bringing up Iraq - didn't matter if it was political economy, research methods, or even the philosophy seminars - you mention iraq and seminar derailed for the rest of the session. Much easier than discussing the matter at hand.

The difference being Israel is effective in destroying (and populting) the Palestinian State and killing it's civilians. Hamas is ineffective at anything but venting anger.

There is an intense and equal racist hatred from both sides, and a corresponding smokescreen denying this hatred. But this is the wrong thread for this.

Although 'it's OK to say Muslims are inferior because they eat halal because NAZIS' does rather neatly encapsulate quite a lot of forum posts/comments/tweets.
