Worldwide shortage of Chrome SPDs?
Most of the low to medium sizes seem to be sold out both on the chrome website as well as Kinoko and Alwaysriding.
Anywhere else I should look?
And why? Are there new models being dropped soon?Got mine from Jenson USA, with import came out a little cheaper than kinoko.

You can wash that off, but you shouldn't.

Having some problem with cleat clearance on my Chrome Kursks. Chrome sent me a new pair and the SPD cleats poke out eeeeeever so slightly.
Possibly solution lower lying cleats? Anyone got a comparison of Time Atac cleats VS SPD?
There isn't a great deal of clearance on the Kursks in my experience. SPD cleats are a bit chunkier than Atacs plus they don't wear down as readily, so you will be tap dancing a bit. Eggbeater cleats have the lowest profile but they're pretty sketchy for fixed riding.

And why? Are there new models being dropped soon?Try http://urbancyclery.co.uk/chrome -they stock the midway pro & kursk pro in grey if of interest... Ordered from them by phone last year & they were quite helpful. At that time the midway seemed to be discontinued & this was the only place I could find them.

Possibly. Just noticing I'm noticeably clopping. The librarians keep glancing at me reeeeeally suspiciously.
Bitch, please.

my kursks snapped after a month, as did the replacements. no noise though, so maybe they've made the sole thicker.

I've been through 2 pairs of DZRs in 6 months. Anyone selling a brand with a better build quality? (quoc pham?)
-
• #963
Did you get them to replace them on warranty? I had a pair for 10 months that failed and they replaced them for me for free (I had to pay import duty though as there was no stock in the UK).

What size shoe are you?

my dzr dice lasted 6 months of riding too.
it's so fucking annoying as they're great shoes in every other way but the durability is unacceptable.
picked up a pair of chrome lower southside pro's on sale for $50 at the chrome hub in chicago (as well as some other major bargains) and while not as featureful they seem pretty solidly made, only used them twice so far so will have to see how they hold up...

Chain Reaction has some DZR shoes on sale right now!
Just bought a pair of Coves to replace my Minnas which have all but disintegrated... -

thanks for the link fixedcheese, was hoping they had some h20's on sale, but they've only got a 45 in stock.
Bought some Ovis' to kind of replace my chrome's, the shallow cleat well on the chrome's annoys me, the cleats sit too proud when new, which means they're clicking all the time. Prefer the deeper well on the dzr's.. -

^ No worries dude!
Bloody quick delivery, they arrived this morning.

Adidas Superstar converted into SPD shoes, hacked the soles out of some Time shoes I bought and never liked. Stuck the new soles in with some Evo-stik after chopping a hole in the bottom of the trainers.

What are Chrome Kursk's like to walk in?
I'm getting fed up of straps so want to go back to SPDs for my commuting bike, the issue is while I can leave a pair of shoes at work I need to walk 2 miles a day in the cycling shoes too & past experience tells me my Dominators won't be good for this (I have considered using the sidi's then having another pair of trainers for walking in in my bag but don't want to do this).

DZRs aren't that robust but they are comfortable to walk in.
my chrome lower southside spd's are ok to walk in but the cleat is a little more sticky out than on the DZR dice so slightly less comfortable to walk in.

Thanks, they don't need to be too tough I only cycle 6 miles a day - more interested in walkability & not terrible looks as I've got other shoes for proper riding.

What are Chrome Kursk's like to walk in?
got the midway pro's and as @HatBeard says the cleats stick out more than I would like, if you want to do more walking I'd say go for the DZR's where the cleat is recessed a lot more.
Evans currently have a sale on

That's just because you're weird looking.
