for mac as well?

I've got an Asus Transformer, runs Windows 8, fairly underpowered (2GB memory and Intel atom) which I mainly use for travelling.
Any suggestions for games to while away the hours on trains and planes? No online play as I don't always have internet connection and preferably playable with trackpad and keyboard.
On a similar note, can anyone recommend a slimline gamepad. The xbox one I have at home is too bulky to carry around.

Dredge, but what new features? Don't think I've turned mine on in the last 3 months :/

^^Hotline Miami, Diablo 2?
Though you're probably better off playing games on your phone.

Mostly things that should have been there from the start...
This was the update i'd been testing for the last month: http://majornelson.com/2014/08/17/next-xbox-one-update-begins-rolling-today/
The latest beta i'm on has most of the features mentioned here:

I'm in not too dissimilar a situation with my Surface Pro 2, though it can run GTA IV at 30fps, which is pretty respectable considering how terrible a port that is.
Though I've been playing a lot of Xenonauts, Mark of the Ninja, Hotline Miami, Invisible Inc., Super Meat Boy, Lovely Planet, Papers Please, Always Sometimes Monsters and Retro City Rampage.
Considering how many great games are coming from small developers who can't afford to spend so much on AAA-style graphics it's not such a bad thing having a relatively underpowered PC these days.

A mouse/keyboard or gamepad makes quite a big difference for me. The only game I find remotely enjoyable to play on my phone is Virtua Tennis. Even the GTA games while technically amazing are utter turd when played on a touchscreen.

I hates all phone games apart from that world domination game twitter (which hates me). Oh and tinder has its moments...

Anyone on here use steam and ever play Portal 2 co-op?

• #12036
Got Borderlands 2 for a fiver too...
-
• #12037
likewise.

• #12038
I'm not too sure about borderlands... Only played 30 mins and I'm really hung-over which doesn't help.
-
• #12039
Heh, I just played it for about 30 mins too and I'm not sure either. I'm doing the singleplayer campaign and that robot is super-annoying, I can't carry adequate ammo, and the mouse acceleration on my mac makes me feel like I've just mainlined half a KG of speed every time I change direction.
Maybe I'm just too old for modern FPS games?

Got Borderlands 1 & 2 in the sale. Yes robot annoying but enemies are not so easy to kill. Need to work on tactics or change character. Much bullets. Many death.
-
• #12041
That's exactly my experience too. I'm playing it on a Macbook pro and the mouse acceleration is mental but not impossible to get used to.

The robot is a pain in the arse, but he fucks off eventually.
It starts to get fun once you begin finding interesting guns, and the special abilities for each character start making a difference. -

Hope so as I just bought it in the sale last night. Getting thrown at those first few monsters felt a bit like being chucked directly at a cyberdemon on your first play, though!
I just had a google for fixing the mouse acceleration and my eyes have glazed over because of all the dorky things I'm reading. Good start.

Passed Mt Gahzet in FFX.

^^ I'm already stuck trying to kill Bewm and Bewm.

Finally got round to finishing halo 4.

Ok, I've been playing more Borderlands 2 and I'm enjoying it now that I've got used to the crazy mouse behaviour. Boom and Bewm are long gone on mine - I died a couple of times and then cottoned on to camping on a ledge in the previous zone and sniping the remaining baddies from there. This sneaky snipe-from-a-distance behaviour is going to serve me well in this game.

• #12048
Hey! I tried that - killed one and then loads of "psychos" turned up and wasted my sorry ass.
-
• #12049
2nd boss down. don't try and toe-to-toe it, you'll not last 20 seconds.
-
• #12050
No, no, you've assumed I'm much less cowardly than I am. The bit I camped in is the bit on the other side of the fence, so the psychos can't get anywhere near me as they're too stupid to work the lift that gets you in and out of boom bewm's pit. I just sat smugly on a rooftop picking them all off one-by-one with a sniper rifle.
I am the worst gamer :3
£4.99 for borderlands + dlc at the moment.
Why yes, I am behind the curve.
