very true; daily is a town bike.

I love my Antares. I believe 142 mm wide I could ride all day on it.
However, I seem to get some prostate pain after a very long day. Hurts to urinate a litte. So I fancy trying something with a cutout. I heard the Antares Vs (with the cutout) it's really any different.
What other choices are there similar? SLR is too narrow up front. Selle SMP?

http://mantasaddle.co.uk/ I just saw one of these today. Does any one know if they are any good? Don't look so great but the wife has a hard time on the commuter, this may (or may not) be a solution. They are a bit pricey.

Not a sensible option but these (below) are intriguing.

Selle SMP ripoffs cheap from china ready to bust you a new one.ordered one of these from aliexpress to try out.... £23 - worth a punt, if it suits me then I might shell out for a real one.

Well it'd be interesting to hear how you get on with it.
Maybe don't fit the knockoff version to the cross/mtb. You only get two balls in life.

Yeah - its not going on the cx bike - will put it on the road/hillclimb bike as its suitably weight-weenie.

Mastercard credit-card.
Purchased a few things from there and they have all been fine. It goes through an escrow system so you can claim the money back if it doesn't turn up/is shit.

I don't have a credit card, does it offer protection in this situation that a debit card wouldn't?
-
• #1362
Yes - but only if the item is > £100 (and < £30,000)

OK, so I might as well just stick it on debit card. Won't get my card cloned and money stolen?

The individual sellers dont get access to your card details - the money all goes through aliexpress/alibaba http://resources.alibaba.com/trade_safe/alibaba_security_issue_1.html
I certainly haven't had any problems and don't know of anyone who has but that's not to say it couldn't happen (just as it could with PayPal in theory)

Scoop is pretty good so far, and like the spoon, you've gotta play with the angle a bit first.

SMP certainly re-cover their own saddles but I don't know offhand of anyone else professionally restoring saddles- there was a string ages ago about recovering your own.

@Bison check out http://busymanbicycles.blogspot.co.uk/ - he re-covers saddles but it is NOT cheap - some amazing work though...

Not going to be cheap I'm sure!

I'm coming to the rather painful conclusion that my current saddle(s) (Madison Prime on the road bike, Ritchey Streem on the MTB) are too narrow.
I know Fizik used to do a test programme with shops but never found out the full details, do they still do it? All I can find is their animal thing. Any other brands do anything similar? Would rather test something before dropping a load of cash to find it still isn't right.

Haven't used it, but Comtat near Old Street do the Fizik test thing. Or at least they did late last year when I popped in. Might be worth giving them a shout. http://www.comtat.co.uk/default.asp

I had a look on Alibaba and they sell knock off Romin Evo's for £25 with free postage. Might be worth a try.
Oh, these look fancy. I think they can last, the fabric is vulcanized on top of the rubber seat I think? should make it pretty sturdy..
