A bit different here...

They're Tenebrio Molitor, a type of darkling beetle. What you can see in the pic is probably only a quarter of what I have, they like to hide and dig. I consider them pets and I check on them every day, They're not particularly affectionate though. I mainly have them to breed for the larvae form aka the mealworm which I then feed to the geckos.

^^ I only have 4 leopards. They eat about 5 full size worms a day at the moment as they're growing. The draw you can see there is only 1ft square, I probably have about 100 beetles. Worms take about 2-3 months to grow to feeding size. Until I get a cycle going properly I won't be feeding any off. It doesn't take much to keep them going. Porridge oats as a substrate/dry food and half a carrot every few days to keep them hydrated. Most of the time I spend with them is moving the pupae from the worms and when they grow to beetles add them to the colony.

It's a better way to waste time rather than causing braindeath with soap operas.

Gomez and Opie seem to like the new furniture. They laid claim to it before we had chance to put any of our stuff there.

They've been hitting that cat flap at some speed!

He very rarely plays like this - I think I have only seen him do it a couple of times in the house - normally totally chilled out and lazing on the sofa

I might hide Dr Squeak in my sock drawer though.

pretty sure we'll be wanting one or maybe two next summer.

kind of wanting them now... but maybe need to fix the holes in the floorboards first..

Very nice - she looks like a fairly old girl?

She is about seven but prior to me rescuing her she had a pretty terrible time. The vet believes she had a fracture of the front leg which the previous owners did not get attention for and she was a bag of bones. So the vet thinks she looks older due to trauma, but the amazing thing is she still has a great trust of humans and probably is the most loving little dog I have ever owned. I really believe when a rescue dog finds a good loving forever home they are more affectionate.
