Will there be a change to stop SHOUTY POSTS, the brick lane thread first post is all caps.
No need for CAPS to get
shouty
shouty
shouty
shouty
Which could get annoying.

Is there a way to embed iframes such as ridewithGPS into replies?
<iframe src="//ridewithgps.com/trips/3123448/embed" height="500px" width="100%" frameborder="0"></iframe>
Tried code and IMG tags but it didn't seem to want to show.

And if I just reduced the size of that last header, that would be so pleasing to the eye.

Embeds are not permitted using OBJECT, EMBED, IFRAME, SCRIPT, LINK, etc.
But I can add embeds for most things.
If you have a typical URL that you would use, i.e.
http://ridewithgps.com/trips/3123448
and can show me an example of some embed:<iframe src="//ridewithgps.com/trips/3123448/embed" height="500px" width="100%" frameborder="0"></iframe>
Then I can make this for you... but only where it's possible to parse the URL, extract an ID, and use that in the embed.
RideWithGPS.com is an easy one to do... but sometimes they are not so easy.
I'll add the RideWithGPS one this evening when I'm home.

Closed conversations work again, and you have permission to close your own conversations in all of the classifieds forums.
You don't have permission to open them, the reason for this is that sometimes moderators will close things and I don't want a blanket rule that people can re-open things that moderators have closed for a reason.

Oh, and sanity prevails... people cannot reply to closed stuff.
Now all I need is a way to show which things are closed.

Awesome, thanks. You da real MVP Velocio.

Just noticed that the automatic quote when you hit reply on computer, doesn't happen on my phone (iOS).

Ben
Blockquote
Nobody has mentioned that one yet.

This renders find on ios7 safari but it seems to bump up and down the page by a couple of pixels every second or so. Makes it hard to navigate the page.
Also, as the unit is quite long, it makes scrolling past it hard as when it fills the page, your interaction is taken as an input on the map (zoom, drag etc)

I don't have any control over the widgets offered by 3rd parties.
I just use the embed tag that they provide, so for things like YouTube, RideWithGPS, etc... whether the widget works in all browsers, handles different viewport widths, etc is all pretty much down to them.
I don't have any ability to re-format the content of an embed and shape that.
It's really a "Do we want embeds at all?" question, and the value of them seems to outshine the few rough edges that some of the embed providers may have.

WTF just happened? All my unread shit just disappeared? I certainly didn't click 'Mark All Read'.
-
• #3867
My bad, sorry about that.
-
• #3869
No-one else is able to do this for you.
The button is a HTTP POST, with a CSRF token and uses auth on the other side to ensure that only the stuff for the person who clicked it is marked read.

Ah, really? I'll look into that. That's enough info to be helpful.

Back.
I was adding icons for closed threads, highlighting sticky items, adding a button to message people directly from search results, and just about to change the search defaults.
-
• #3872
Ah cool.
-
• #3873
Just added search defaults for inTitle:true and sort:date

Fair enough...
They're definitely useful, just figured it might be something you could fine tune. I'd rather have them and put up with the odd dodgy embed than not have them.
Ha! No offence taken, I assumed it was one word in the instance of brevity but the opportunity was too good to resist.
