  • You could shim it?

  • I thought I had it tough being tall and all but being short seems equally bad.

  • Dutch pages are a solution for the giants among us...60 cm frames are not unheard of on Marktplaats (the Dutch gumtree) worth looking there. For micros its Ebay.it but nice small track frames are rare even there.

Well the Cooper Rascasse is £32, Deda Piega £18 for the sake of a bit of sandpapering/dremelling... esp. as I have some 26 stems... not a hard choice to make. Hai, wiggle?

  • I see way more tiny frames than giant ones!

  • Really? Where are you looking IR?

As this is a 49x53 and a 51TT would be better (well...for aesthetics, cos a short stem works) but they seem rare.

  • Had a look at defietsenmaker, yellow one 26 euro, silver one in 90 (maybe 10 is ok...i will start trying around) 50 euro. Ouch.

  • I used deda piega compacts on my build but also wanted rid of the black finish. Turns out it's easy, I got a nice finish by rotating the sandpaper around the clamp area. As I wasn't gonna polish them afterwards, it ended up giving a nice uniform finish with the light marks from sanding going around the tube

  • Tx! I've some various types of sandpaper from coarse to fine. I read that if you wet it, you get a smoother finish.

Looking through the Gazelle brochure, they'd have put a Yellow (sprayed for Gazelle) Deda stem on it, and red tape. Once I have my size, I will see if I can source a Gazelle as 8 cm was impossible to find, but 10 may be doable.

  • Really? Where are you looking IR?

Often on NJS export haha, great place for the vertically challenged to pick up bargains :P

  • I looked there...not exactly bargains due to shipping/import when you need a frame. UK customs won't let big boxes through unopened anymore.

Good for the shorter among us, that's for sure!

Unpolished mutant stem. Way cheaper than polished. I have a shim...I'd say get that if I can stretch to 10 cm (will try tomorrow, got new bars...) and put some elbow grease + sandpaper in.

    Any thoughts?

  • And here's some potatochops. I personally prefer red+silver, or black+yellow. Been hunting for a black selle SMP, it's going to take a while...

  • you could try and dye or recover your red one.

  • Or...red and silver :)

Really is red that bad? I showed the picture to others they though black or red with silver both OK.

Now for a silver 3t mutant stem...unless we have more objections?

  • Probably objections everywhere but it's your bike, if it rides well then who cares what is Internet people think :)

  • That's what Pengy's owner said...probably :p

I agree current stem/guard is yuck

  • After much humming and ha-ing I've ordered a 9 cm 3T mutant in silver.

I also have a black saddle now. Aren't you all excited...as excited as I am? ;)

  • excited to see pics, yes :)

  • I'll take some nice ones once the setup is agreed upon. The decals are glittery and so is the blue stripes paint but it's hard to show unless the sun hits the area directly.

  • The mutant stem is on, and I also have a black saddle (wooh) but due to rain the mudguard had to be on...I'll take some nice pics when the sun is out.

As this is NI give it half a year... :P

  • Dull weather...I know a nice spot for pictures but it's been rain, rain and no sun lately. So here's a ScobleBrick(tm) pic until things clear up. bar angle a bit so-so yes, will rotate em a bit

  • @hma new pics in nice light for you
@Thrust off your anti-list now? (I believe you posted it in anti, could be wrong though!)

Either way, I'm very happy with Kees (he's got a Dutch name, of course). Comfortable, steers fast but controlled and you can throw him around a bit if you feel like it.

  • Both saddle and stem are anti in my book. It has potential but right now I'm putting this in my 'laughable build' folder.

Needs a black concor saddle, a shorter quill stem, cinelli criterium bars with black fizik bartape and just rid the brake and levers.

It's a track frame, ride it as it's supposed to; In city centre traffic laughing your head off.

  • finally! :)

saddle is anti for mee too.. stem is not so bad, but would look better with a deda linx :D
