  • ^ collaboration between Fyne Ales & Wild Beer Co.

  • May have already said, but Drygate in Glasgow is amazing. Their own IPA is very good, and quite similar to Thornbridge's Jaipur.

  • Celt Experience are awesome. Met Tom a couple of times at beer tastings. Top bloke.

  • Went to a piss up at blackjack brewery last night, donations and pour your own, sweet!. The guys are really nice and had a good look round a small but very nice little brewery, one of them even went through the list of previously brewed beers to try and find one I think I really liked ages ago and offered to give me recipes/yeast if I start another home brew.

  • ^ I've enjoyed a few of theirs, piss up in a brewery must've been ace!

After a long day at work in the sun at Platt just had a can of Neck Oil, another good'un by Beavertown.

Park beers at the Platt Bike Hub launch Fri anyone? (Mcr)

  • I'll be there

  • bmx first?

  • Nah, I'll be working in there.

  • Cool, have asked Schoey if he fancies a beer after work will swing by say hi.

  • Sweet.

  • Had the Kernel london sour in the beagle last night, dunno if i can quite deal with Berliner weisse, just so weird.

How to Celebrate International Beer Day

For those who are new to this whole International Beer Day thing, we've crafted this guide on how to celebrate -- Cheers!
Drink Good Beer with Good Friends

If you were thinking about spending International Beer Day by yourself, think again! Drinking beer may be the most important part of celebrating International Beer Day, but we're pretty convinced that beer goes best with a little conversation. So drag your friends out to an IBD celebration or invite them into your home, but make sure you have some camaraderie to go with your brews.

    Give the Gift of Beer

It's a well known fact that beer tastes better when someone else buys it for you, so it's a tradition on International Beer Day to buy beer for your friends! When you present the beer, don't forget to say the traditional words of beer-giving:
"I bring you the gift of beer."
By giving the gift of beer to your friends and receiving the gift of beer in return, everyone's beer becomes much more delicious.
    Enjoy Beers From Other Cultures

It's a big beer world out there, full of wondrous new flavors. Be adventurous, try something new on International Beer Day!
Thank Your Brewer, Thank Your Bartender

Thousands of men and women around the world have devoted their lives to providing us with the enormous variety beers we have available to us, and on International Beer Day it's important to let these people know that we appreciate them. So write a note, leave a tip, make a call, or just say thanks, but make sure your brewers and bartenders know that you love them.

    On the thursday???
Taking a 1/2 day to get messed up

  • Think me and Si are going with a crowd on the Thursday

  • T'other half likes a good ale shandy. Works well with citrussy golden/pale ales.

  • Very good 0.75l Leffe Brune in this weather with diner.

  • On an Odell Cutthroat Porter, not ideal summer ale but at the lighter end of the really dark stuff

  • Amazing beer

  • Yin and Yang from Evil Twin.

  • Well then. Where can I buy some boltmaker?

  • GBBF, presumably. Afternoon off anyone?

  • I'm off tomorrow... I shall be trying boltmaker... maybe a lot of it

  • Hmph. Friday night was supposed to be about enjoying a few nice beers. But I bought four for my partner and I to share, and somehow three were off...

First was ELB oatmeal porter. Thin, lacking in body, tasted and smelled of vinegar. Also no head retention. Second and third were both London Fields (hackney hopster and love not war); both lacking in the expected hop characters and with awful carb.

I kept tasting notes as they were really not good, and went back to the shop to ask for a refund/ exchange. The shop seemed to mock me for caring ("are you a wine expert") [eh?] And then blamed me for the fact that they weren't going to do anything ("its your fault") [eh?!] And then kicked me out.

Ffs. Craft beer is sold on the basis that it tastes good and people should value this feedback. Instead I feel like an ass for caring. What a disaster.
