Shout out to the guy on the green Brooklyn this morning who drafted a bus over Waterloo bridge at 35km/h about 2 inches from its bumper. Proper brakless ninja.

There's a guy I see on the Embankment a fair bit on a fixed black Langster. Loves to bomb past everyone on one section then cruise no-handed on the next. Whilst you're wobbling around in the cycle lane with no hands like a massive flaccid cock, the rest of us are forced into three lanes of heavy traffic to overtake you for the 5th time. The extent to which you are impressed with yourself is tedious in the extreme.

Saw a lad today, full face helmet, go pro on the top extensive lighting everywhere and some sort of bleepy kids warning thing that was making all sorts of noise... I'd already thought WAC
Setting off your bleepy thing to cut inside a car turning left and making the car emergency stop it's manoeuvre doesn't make you safe you turd blossom.

This. And it was some of my best work.

If not, there's two of those nobs about. -

Absolutely fucking no idea how to do a quote on microcosm. Cheers!

doesn't work for all browsers that's why it's tricky at present

Haha, I think that's my issue actually. Internet Explorer at work like it's 1999.

@Paramounted Not really calling you out as a bad cyclist man... just after watching that GoPro clip I worried for your future health! Should have gone in Spotted really. Nice forks, what are they?
-
• #10263
It is bad cycling and the only thing that really concerns me is others copying it.
It takes a lot of concentration and am fully aware of what a mess I could make of myself.
Same goes for drinking and smoking too although in all honesty, drafting buses is probably quite a bit more fun.Forks are standard V2 Brooklyn ones but I painted them to look sort of like a watermelon.
This is owing to to being a twat, as noted above. -

The only person who can get hurt is me.
And what about the poor person who witnesses you smash into the back of a bus, possibly ending up under it. Then attempt to resuscitate you, but fails, and then is left emotionally scared for life? Does that count as being hurt?

Bus Drafter

Thank you, @Hovis. Yes, that is something for me to consider although the likelihood of that happening vs. any other cycling incident is probably relatively slim.
You could also mention my poor, poor parents and how horrible it'd be for their only son to die in such a terribly unecessary way.. but WillMelling is already here and if anything, he wants me dead after a misplaced apostrophe a few months ago.

Not really, no. I do plenty of things which, if things went badly wrong, might end up with me being killed or seriously injured. Mountain biking, motor racing and off-piste skiing, for example. I don't draft buses, because for me the risk/reward balance doesn't work, but I'm not going to start living my life wrapped up in cotton wool just so that I don't run the risk of upsetting someone if I end up bearing the consequences of my own decisions.

To be clear, the reward is not getting over Waterloo bridge quicker, FYI. It's the sensation of being enclosed in a swirling slipstream. I actually rate it quite highly on my patented Riskreward-o-meter.
-
• #10271
This is such a silly argument. Should I stop doing anything in case someone is upset by it? THINK OF THE CHILDREN!!
-
• #10272
Not dead, son, just very, very sorry and full of regret, crippled with a sense of failure and the inability to live up to expectations. Like any parent, I only want what's best for you.
-
• #10273
Yes that's fine. Those are all living life activities. But like you said, risk reward for drafting a bus isn't good enough. My point is, people should not be potentially pissing their lives away with reckless actions such as bus drafting, and then claiming it's okay because it only hurts them, when clearly it doesn't.
-
• #10274
I didn't say not do anything, I'm referring to drafting buses.

All I'm saying is, OP is wrong when he says he is the only one who can get hurt.
Some scumbag sat on my wheel down a hill, pulled in front on the flat, shoulder checked and then emptied both nostrils back onto me then acted like it was a freakin' accident.
