Perfect. For a tenner I can get three and just replace them as they cut up.

Has any one here ridden on 32c hardshells or gators? i want some on my Surly but worried about them being to sticky if i want to bust a skid.
You want a tyre with even less grip even though you've been going on about all those hills you skid down?

It's not that i want less grip, i really sticky tyre can be quite awkward to skid, and thats no fun.

I'm currently running a Durano Plus Etape as a rear wheel due to a blowout on the way to work last week and I needed a tyre quickly. It runs pretty fast but is heavy due to the massive amount of puncture protection it has. Biggest problem for me though is it's grip. It grips to the tarmac so much that the tyre has managed to move around the rim bit by bit when I've done some hard skids on it.
You can hear it happen too. It sounds like an old car with worn drum brakes screeching.

Did you use oil to get your tyres on?!!
-
• #712
Yeah, I always use oil to put a tyre on...
-
• #713
More skid patches! :P
but seriously, that sounds quite dangerous, like wd40 or actual oil?
-
• #714
I used all the oil I could find. Wd40, olbas, baby, vegetable, castrol GTX, olive...

Did I do something wrong?
Or did I not make my sarcasm clear enough with ellipses...?

The reflective sidewall bugged me so much that I swapped back Conti GP4 back on. All black version would be much preferred. Also interested for future consideration, although I think I'll just stick to various Conti's.

They are reflective in the pic though, hmmm
-
• #722
What size are you after? The 25c are the normal logo without the reflective strip, the 28c+ have the gash reflective strip.

the reflective sidewall is one of the best features on randos
-
• #724
Don't really want a 25c as from what i read they just has less rubber, i could sharpie over the reflective strip but ehhh...
But I just realised my hardshell has last 7 months so far and still plenty of life left, impressive.

Useful on the commuter yeah, aesthetically not so useful.

Certainly won't be long lasting though.
